1. Subscription Plans Overview
Home Tutor AI offers multiple subscription tiers designed to meet different family needs. Our current subscription options include a Free Trial that provides limited access to basic features for evaluation purposes, allowing new users to explore the platform before committing to a paid plan. The Basic Plan offers individual student access with core learning features including AI tutoring sessions, progress tracking, practice modes, and assessments. The Family Plan provides multi-student access with enhanced features including support for multiple children, family leaderboards, comprehensive parent dashboard, and advanced analytics.
All paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis, either monthly or annually depending on your selected billing cycle. Detailed pricing information is available on our website and may be updated from time to time with advance notice to existing subscribers.
2. Free Trial Period
2.1 Trial Terms
New users are eligible for a 7-day free trial period to evaluate the Service. During the trial period, you have full access to the features included in your selected subscription plan. To start a free trial, you must provide valid payment information. You will not be charged during the trial period if you cancel before the trial ends.
2.2 Trial Cancellation
You may cancel your free trial at any time during the 7-day trial period without being charged. If you do not cancel before the trial period expires, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription, and you will be charged the applicable subscription fee. To cancel your trial, log in to your account, navigate to Account Settings, select Subscription Management, and click "Cancel Trial." 2.3 Trial Eligibility
The free trial offer is available only to new users who have not previously subscribed to Home Tutor AI. Each household or payment method is eligible for one free trial only. We reserve the right to determine trial eligibility and to revoke trial access if we detect abuse of the trial offer.
3. Subscription Cancellation
3.1 How to Cancel
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting our support team. To cancel through your account, follow these steps: First, log in to your Home Tutor AI account using your credentials. Navigate to the Dashboard and click on your profile icon in the top right corner. Select "Account Settings" from the dropdown menu. Click on the "Subscription" or "Billing" tab. Locate the "Cancel Subscription" button and click it. You will be asked to confirm your cancellation and may be offered alternative options. Confirm your cancellation by clicking "Yes, Cancel Subscription." You will receive a confirmation email with details about your cancellation and the date your access will end.

3.2 When Cancellation Takes Effect
When you cancel your subscription, the cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. This means you will retain full access to the Service until the end of the period you have already paid for. For example, if you cancel on January 15th and your billing cycle renews on January 30th, you will continue to have access until January 30th. After that date, your subscription will not renew, and you will no longer be charged.
3.3 Immediate Cancellation
If you wish to cancel your subscription immediately and stop using the Service right away, you may do so by deleting your account. However, please note that immediate cancellation does not entitle you to a refund for the unused portion of your current billing period, except as outlined in Section 4 (Refund Policy).
3.4 Reactivation
If you cancel your subscription and later decide to return, you can reactivate your account at any time by logging in and subscribing to a plan. Your previous learning data and progress will be retained for a reasonable period (typically 90 days) after cancellation, allowing you to pick up where you left off. 4. Refund Policy
4.1 General Refund Terms
We generally do not provide refunds for partial subscription periods. When you cancel your subscription, you will retain access to the Service until the end of your current billing period, and no refund will be issued for the remaining days in that period. This policy applies to both monthly and annual subscriptions.
4.2 Exceptions and Special Circumstances
We may provide refunds in certain exceptional circumstances, evaluated on a case-by-case basis. These circumstances include technical issues where the Service was unavailable or unusable for an extended period due to technical problems on our end, unauthorized charges where you can demonstrate that charges were made without your authorization, and duplicate charges where you were accidentally charged multiple times for the same subscription period.
Additionally, if you cancel within 48 hours of your initial subscription (not including free trial conversions) and have not substantially used the Service, we may offer a full refund at our discretion. 4.3 Annual Subscription Refunds
For annual subscriptions, if you cancel within 30 days of your initial purchase and have used the Service for fewer than 10 learning sessions, you may be eligible for a prorated refund. 4.4 Refund Processing

4.5 Non-Refundable Items
The following are not eligible for refunds under any circumstances: subscription fees for periods during which you actively used the Service, promotional offers or discounted subscriptions (unless required by law), fees for add-on services or features purchased separately, and charges incurred due to your failure to cancel before the renewal date. We strongly encourage you to cancel your subscription before the renewal date if you do not wish to continue using the Service.
5. Automatic Renewal and Billing
5.1 Automatic Renewal
All paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. For monthly subscriptions, you will be charged on the same day each month. For annual subscriptions, you will be charged on the anniversary of your initial subscription date. You authorize us to charge your payment method on file for the applicable subscription fee when your subscription renews.
5.2 Renewal Notifications
We will send you email notifications before your subscription renews to remind you of the upcoming charge. For annual subscriptions, we will notify you at least 30 days before renewal. For monthly subscriptions, we will notify you at least 7 days before renewal. These notifications will include the renewal date, the amount to be charged, and instructions on how to cancel if you do not wish to renew.
5.3 Failed Payments
If your payment method fails or is declined at renewal, we will attempt to charge your payment method multiple times over the following days. You will receive email notifications about the failed payment and will be given an opportunity to update your payment information. If payment cannot be processed after multiple attempts, your subscription will be suspended, and you will lose access to the Service until payment is successfully processed.
5.4 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change our subscription prices at any time. Price changes will not affect your current subscription period but will apply to subsequent renewal periods. We will provide you with at least 30 days' advance notice of any price increases via email and through notifications in your account. If you do not agree with the price change, you may cancel your subscription before the new price takes effect.
6. Account Termination by Home Tutor AI
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time if you violate our Terms and Conditions, engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior, fail to pay subscription fees, or use the Service in a manner that harms other users or our platform. If we terminate your account for violations of our Terms and Conditions, you will not be entitled to a refund for any unused portion of your subscription period.
If we terminate your account due to our decision to discontinue the Service entirely, we will provide you with reasonable advance notice and may offer a prorated refund for any unused portion of your subscription period.
7. Downgrading Your Subscription
If you wish to downgrade from a Family Plan to a Basic Plan, or from a paid plan to a free trial (if eligible), you may do so through your account settings. When you downgrade your subscription, the change will take effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to have access to your current plan's features until that date. No refunds or credits will be issued for the difference in subscription fees when you downgrade.
To downgrade your subscription, log in to your account, navigate to Account Settings, select Subscription Management, choose your new desired plan, and confirm the downgrade. You will receive a confirmation email with details about when the downgrade will take effect.
8. Upgrading Your Subscription
If you wish to upgrade from a Basic Plan to a Family Plan, or from a monthly billing cycle to an annual billing cycle, you may do so at any time through your account settings. When you upgrade your subscription, the change takes effect immediately. You will be charged a prorated amount for the upgrade, calculated based on the remaining days in your current billing period and the price difference between your old and new plans.
For example, if you are halfway through your monthly Basic Plan billing cycle and upgrade to a Family Plan, you will be charged for half of the price difference between the two plans for the current month, and then the full Family Plan price at your next renewal date.
9. Payment Method Updates
You are responsible for keeping your payment information up to date. If your payment method expires or is no longer valid, please update it in your account settings to avoid service interruptions. To update your payment method, log in to your account, navigate to Account Settings, select Billing or Payment Methods, click "Update Payment Method," enter your new payment information, and save your changes.
We use Stripe, a secure third-party payment processor, to handle all payment transactions. Your payment information is encrypted and stored securely in accordance with industry standards. We do not store your full credit card information on our servers.
10. Promotional Offers and Discounts
From time to time, we may offer promotional discounts, coupon codes, or special pricing for new or existing subscribers. Promotional offers are subject to specific terms and conditions, which will be clearly stated at the time of the offer. Unless otherwise specified, promotional pricing applies only to the initial subscription period. When your subscription renews, you will be charged the standard subscription rate.
Promotional offers cannot be combined with other discounts or applied retroactively to existing subscriptions. 11. Chargebacks and Disputes
If you dispute a charge with your bank or credit card company (a "chargeback") instead of contacting us directly, we reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service. This retention period allows you to reactivate your subscription and continue where you left off if you change your mind.
